1.3 History:

After losing his mother to complications after childbirth, and his father to a fatal accident, Cassius (born Cassia) Cato was taken in by his closest next of kin, Porsche Cato.
Raised in Regio Urbanissima, Cassius was given the best his guardian could provide. Despite the history of the Cato family, Cassius was successfully enrolled in high quality educational programs, and later chose to venture into military training. Outside of his more formal education, Porsche Cato also educated Cassius in engineering, mechanics, and combat.

1.4 Behavior & Personality:

As a child, Cassius was very strong-willed, stubborn, and had an attitude to rival his father's. However, he was still young, and being treated kindly by Porsche meant he was otherwise a very pleasant and friendly child, who enjoyed being social.
In his later years, particularly once he entered military training, Cassius progressively became more insubordinate and aggressive. After the death of one of his friends and classmates, this behavior pattern was exacerbated.
Currently, Cassius can be considered to be outright mean and cruel to others - his priorities are to keep himself alive first, even if it means sacrificing another. He maintains an amicable exterior, but is often quick to anger and show his true colors.

1.5 Education & Training:

Standard Imperial education. Accepted into military training early at age 16 along with multiple other peers that showed exceptional promise. Note: despite subpar scores in most academics; athletic, combat, and mechanical skills scored highly. Academic scores were overlooked in favor of the political connections of the Cato family. After standard military training, Cassius was selected for a more specialized program for one year after graduation. Once this was completed, Cassius was granted the rank of 'pyr' and command of Strike Team Canis. Note: The intentional placement of Cassius in command following previous behavior and performance is intended to further destabilize the Cato family line. As Decurion of the team, Cassius was to lead the squadron of 10 soldiers on missions considered to be of utmost confidentiality to the Empire. Cassius, as is the standard for other members of Team Canis, is considered expendable and replaceable. The topmost priority is to complete the mission, no matter what.

2.1 Away from home:

Kaz makes no effort to hide his Garlean identity - his third eye is fully uncovered and on display, and his accented Eorzean (and prolific use of Garlean expletives) also reveals his heritage. He's a long way from home, and sticks out like a sore thumb among the Eorzeans around him.

2.2 Cato Manufacturing:

Recently, Kaz has settled down on the outskirts of Revenant's Toll, and now has a job as a mechanic for Cato Manufacturing, a manufactory run by none other than his guardian/father, Porsche Cato. Kaz can be found working on projects, or being sent out on errands in the markets in town.
